Gem Surprise Box is based in and ships out of Southern California where every subscription box is packed with care by a GIA Graduate Gemologist.

Here at Gem Surprise we believe every rock, crystal, and gemstone is beautiful in it’s own special way. Because we only supply natural gemstones, minerals, and fossils, some specimens may display natural birthmarks or inclusions. These slight imperfections showcase the stone’s natural origins. Gemstones, minerals, and fossils can go through a lot, geologically speaking, before they reach the surface and every birthmark tells a story.

Faceted gemstones such as Tourmaline, Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald, Peridot, Alexandrite, Garnet, Spinel, the Quartz family and others are likely to show these natural birthmarks from their formation. All gemstones are likely to have inclusions even if they are not eye visible.

Mineral specimens are selected for our specific box offerings based on their quality/clarity, rarity, market demand, and size.

Every gemstone, mineral, and fossil is unique so there will be small variations between boxes.
